Training on the practical implementation of the SDGs
This year, the AGYO is offering an interactive learning module for the first time. Former, current and future participants of Teams up! and Team works! can contribute their own SDG-related project ideas and will be supported by professional consultants during the implementation process. The training consists of two online phases (August-September and October-November) and an on-site workshop in Kigali, Rwanda, from 8 to 13 October 2023.
Background
Both the Teams up! youth exchange projects and the Team works! assignments for young experts are designed with the aim of young people continuing to promote sustainable development after their time on the programme and, thus becoming SDG multipliers. Since this is a rather broad and challenging objective, former participants have often expressed they are lacking the tools and tactics to get started. Therefore, the new training course is going to support current, former and future participants to realise their own SDG-related projects and take action.
General conditions
Participation in the entire training is free of charge and DAJW covers the costs for the journey to and the stay in Rwanda. Participants between 18 and 30 years can apply for the course in teams of two, three or four. Each team has to be made up of a balanced number of African and German applicants. At least one team member must have already participated in a Teams up! exchange project or a Team works! assignment or have scheduled an exchange for the upcoming six months.
Participants will meet virtually and face-to-face during the on-site meeting in Ruanda. They will present and further develop their project ideas, learn from and inspire each other. Financial means for the implementation of the project ideas are not included, but ideas for financing possibilities will be provided.
