Team works! in Germany
Team works! in Germany enables young experts from African countries to undertake an internship in Germany for a period of several weeks. Examples include internships in businesses, healthcare or welfare facilities and civil society organisations. These internships always focus on a matter concerning the implementation of one of the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals. They also give the young experts the opportunity to see what everyday life and working life are like in Germany and to share ideas and knowledge with their colleagues in the organisation to which they are assigned. An experienced SES mentor is on hand to support the young experts during their internships.
The German-African Youth Office, including its programme lines Teams up! and Team works!, will conclude on 31 December 2027. Unfortunately, new applications (for Teams up!) can no longer be submitted. Existing grants will continue to be funded as scheduled until their completion. Similarly, new applications for internships (for Team works!) can no longer be accepted. Internships in 2026 will proceed as scheduled. We would like to express our sincere appreciation to all implementing organisations, African partners, and experts whose commitment and engagement have been instrumental in the programme’s success.

The SES experts
SES experts volunteer both in Germany and abroad, sharing their expertise with enterprises, public administration bodies, welfare/healthcare facilities and many other organisations. We asked some of them to tell us about themselves.
