Team works! picks up speed

Young electrical engineer from Ghana starts her work experience in Bottrop

With the launch of the AGYO in summer 2021, Team works! has opened up new opportunities for the exchange of young experts in the field of development policy. Team works! wants to promote the exchange of young professionals from Germany and African countries. Erica Kusi Amponsah from Ghana is the first young African expert to come to Germany with the AGYO. As the first Team works! tandem, she visited the Senior Expert Service in Bonn together with the accompanying SES expert Friedhelm Ochmann on Thursday, October 14th  , and was welcomed by a small team from SES and AGYO.

Six people stand next to each other. One person is holding a photovoltaic cell with the inscription "Akwaaba", which means "Welcome" in Ghana. The people are from SES, AGYO and Erica Kusi Amponsah and Friedrich Ochmann from Team works!

Driven by sunshine and motivation

Over the next three weeks, Erica will be able to gain new professional experience in the installation and maintenance of photovoltaic systems on private roofs as well as on the roofs of schools and other public facilities at the company Sunnycontrol in Bottrop. To this end, she already brings some work experience from her electrical engineering studies as well as her work at Solartaxi in Accra. At Solartaxi, she works in an all-women team mainly on developing vehicles for everyday transport needs that are powered by self-built and integrated solar hubs. What she is looking forward to most during her time in Germany is already clear to her: "I am looking forward to gaining insights into new ways of working and new techniques in the field of renewable energies. I'm especially excited about the professional exchange!"

During her time in Germany, SES expert Friedhelm Ochmann - the second part of the expert tandem and managing director of Sunnycontrol - will be at her side with active support and many years of experience.

We wish the first Team works! tandem an exciting time full of experiences!

The aim of Team works! is to promote equal partnership through networking and cooperation between professionals from Germany and African countries and to support young people in developing an awareness of global issues and the action they can take.
